Words below by George Yates who sent the picture. His Dad, Ed Yates, moved to California when Dick Clark moved the show there and Ed remained on for some years as the Director of American Bandstand.

"April Fool’s Day on American Bandstand. Even though this shot was taken on the Calif set of American Bandstand – you can see the Philly humor was still intact thanks to the original bandstand director Ed Yates. You can hear a few chuckles as Dick starts counting down the Top Ten. By the time Dick gets to # 5 “A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You” by Cannibal & the Headhunters – the laughs have turned to groans. Dick turns to the camera and says “ I don’t think they are gonna go for this Ed!” Enjoy, George
