Marsha 2853 posts Mar 16, 2010 1:42 AM	Arlene was one of the Regulars I tuned in each day to see. As Nina said under Kenny's bio, she tuned in to see if they were dancing together--so did I. I did the same with Justine & Bob. If these couples weren't dancing with their usual partner, I would wonder if they had broken up and I would run to buy the next issue of TEEN Magazine. There are some great Arlene/Kenny pictorials in some of the old TEEN magazines and some in the 16 MAGAZINE. Seeing those pictures now brings back vividly my memories of that particular dress Arlene wore or the way she wore her hair and her infectious smile. One of her outfits I remember the most was the jumper dress or suspendered skirt. I am not sure exactly what they were called but they were popular after Arlene wore hers on the show. I missed seeing Arlene and Kenny the day they won the car for the dance contest. I really don't know how I missed that day, as I really loved the dance contests. When I was away during some of the summers to be with my cousin in Oregon was about the only time I missed a show. My cousin was not in to Bandstand at all and I could never understand why. She is a year older than I and she never seemed much interested in TV at all. To this day, she is not a big TV or movie fan.
Nina 244 posts Mar 16, 2010 8:46 AM	Arlene, was one of my favorites to watch...a friend of mine in N.Y. would say to me that I resembled Arlene...I wished! I think it was the way I styled my hair during that era, she would also say that my smile was similar to Arlene's...anyway I loved to watch her dance with Kenny, she had this unique stance about her when she danced fast that I loved...of all the gorgeous, beautiful, sophisticated and cute Regulars and the other girls on the show, to me, Arlene stood out the most. I remember when she enrolled into Catholic School and wore her uniform to the show, DC interviewed her and my friends and I were surprised how her voice was a little deep...she was so shy but had a gorgeous smile. I remember that jumper Marsha mentioned and how after seeing her I saw many others wear the same style. Arlene, emitted a true Natural Beauty about her, she didn't wear much makeup, she was truly a Natural Beauty...I am pleased to know that she is doing well today...HI ARLENE!
Pat H. 13791 posts Mar 16, 2010 4:50 PM	I always liked Arlene...you could tell that she was very sweet and nice. She got along with everyone and its no surprise that she was so popular. I remember thinking how cute her and Kenny were together and I definately noticed (as we all did)when she wasn't dancing with Kenny. She tells the story in Bandstand Days how she would come home from school and her mother would be watching AB and would know these kids by name...then Arlene found out how to get on the show and ironically she ended up being more well known than anyone! That is truly amazing!
janie78 1 post Apr 02, 2010 7:41 PM	Kenny and Arlene were my very favorite couple.I would get so up set if they didn,t dance together. It was so sad when I read that Dick had cut Kenny off the show for performing pro.
