What a lovely vintage fifties nightgown on the HENSON KICKERNICK label. It's prettier than my pictures can depict and the color is a heavenly blue in a slightly deeper shade than shown. What is especially pretty is the lace embellishment at the neckline front and back and at the hemline. The white lace is enclosed within double-sided nylon in those ares. The inset midriff is what was usual in the 40s and 50s. FABRIC is a stated 100% nylon. Henson Kickernick gowns were made in the USA. SIZE is a stated 40 (this is bust size). The waist is about 32 inches and hips are flexible due to the flowing fuller style. LENGTH measures 53 inches. CONDITION is very good to excellent. The only thing to mention is at the center V of neckline where the V meets the midriff, there is a very small area that looks like a tiny notch in the fabric because it has slightly pulled away in that area. This could easily be remedied by one stitch bringing it together again. You won't notice it unless you're looking closely, as there is just so much of beauty in the total presentation and that is what you are viewing. The fabric is clean and odor-free. When you buy vintage you are not going to find perfect in very many cases, but it is the joy of wearing gowns that had more quality of fabric and style than what you find in the stores currently.
