This slip is quite a find from the fantastic lingerie name of Van Raalte. In the forties and fifties a type of suit known as suit slip or secretary's slip came out. This featured a light color bodice for under your blouses and a dark skirted portion of slip for under your skirts. This one is exceptionally pretty and in excellent vintage condition. The front of bodice is an exquisite all floral lace overlay (backed by sheer nylon). The straps have white metal sliders The label is the vintage double loop cloth label. It states made in USA and the size is a stated 34. It's obviously for a petite lady and I would say the best size today would be for a size 4 (bust 33/34 ~ waist 25~~hips 35. The length is 38 inches from shoulder to hem; and from the top of bodice to the hemline, the length is 34 inches. Fabric is all Nylon and it is smoke-free and odor-free and pristine clean. There is a lovely 1 1/2 inch lace at the hemline. Please go by the stated colors of bodice being a wedding white and the skirt portion being a jet black.
