This is a very rare book for children that you will have a most difficult time finding. I was only able to find several on the entire WEB and they did not appear to be in as well kept condition as this one. Ruth Campbell apparently wrote several books for children--the other two being "The All-Alone House" and "The Runaway Smalls". I do see those a bit more often but they are rare as well. If you have any of them, you will be sure to have some unique and wonderful books in your collection. I am not an expert on books, but I would say you might not find another of this edition so well kept. The boards are very good, and the spine is as well. The pages are clean, flat and intact. The only writing within the book is on the inside cover of the back of the book and that appears to be someone's personal numbering for their own home library. This book was printed in the U.S.A. and the manufacturing plant was in Camden, N.J. The picture on the front boards is beautiful and I believe is called a pastedown. The frontispiece color picture on the front end pages is charming and crisp in its colors. The rest of the illustrations within the book are B&W. There are 87 numbered pages.
Please inquire by e-mail if you have a specific question that I might be able to answer. As I said, I am not a book expert, but I love to collect books and I buy those that I find interesting and charming. The first two sentences: "Marcia was going to be ten years old in one week. Being ten was quite an event."
