What an interesting old set of child rearing books this is! I love it. It was first copyrighted in 1933, again in 1942 and this is the 1950 edition. It's so much fun to see how people were taught parenting back in those decades. I think parents today could benefit from knowing some of these wonderful basics. Each volume has lots of black and white glossy photographs. The set was compiled and edited by the Editors of "Parents' Magazine." You'll find topics like: Cosmetics for Adolescents, Delinquency and Its Causes, Emotional Growth, Driving Family Car, Menstruation, Money: Teaching Its Use, Obedience, Nervousness, Premature Babies, Preschool Years, Overfed Babies, Nervous Breakdowns, Music Before Five, Posture, Acne, Art Appreciation, Character Training, Storytelling, Speech and Speech Defects, Tantrums, Twins, Tonsils, Toys, Unselfishness, Awkward Age, Competition, Sleep Disturbances, Race Prejudice, Skin Care, Smoking, Boarding School, First Aid at Home, Hobbies, Heredity, Homework and so many more topics I can't begin to list all. Although today we have the Internet and can find so many subjects, having this set of books is an informative and fun read and a real blast from the past. You will learn a lot and enjoy it at same time. CONDITION: The set is very good--clean pages and intact. I am not an authority on books, but you will find this set in very good shape. The end papers are illustrated and the actual photos of children at all ages couldn't be more adorable. A little fading of some spines. FREE SHIPPING FOR OUR USA BUYERS WITHIN THE USA.
