Here's a real slice of American family in 1955. I was a child in that year and I remember some of the things in this delightful issue which I have enjoyed having and now pass on for someone else to enjoy. All November issues of magazines in that timeline would show Christmas things you could buy or ideas for your home, etc. It was always fun to buy the November issues and prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas. You'll find recipes, fashions, gifts, stories, advice, etc. Some of the particular items in this issue are: "Bread Puddings" (color picture and recipes of a dish that was very popular in the 50s); Ralph Edwards and how he fools people to get them on his show "This Is Your Life"--one is lovely Gale Storm in color; "Mamie Eisenhower: First lady - but wife first"; Harvest Salads in beautiful color picture with recipes; numerous pages of small gift ideas for Christmas; inside front cover is one of the beautiful Modess ads with glamorous model and fashion gown; "Having Babies After 35"; "Giffs to Sew"; "Parties Are People"; and much more.
