You are viewing ELEGANCE INTERNATIONAL Fall/Winter 1968/69 which is a very rare magazine that I have owned since buying it in 1968 when it came out on the newstands. I have a few of these very hard to find oversize ELEGANCE magzines, as I liked to sew when I was a young working woman and on my lunch hour I would go to this unique magazine stand and purchase this international fashion magazine whenever I could. They were expensive even then for a magazine--I think somewhere between $6 and $8 and for a young working woman, I felt it was a real luxury...but it was well worth it because all the pages were huge color fashion photographs with some of the most gorgeous models. You would always find at least one swatch of fabric to match one of the haute couture fashions in each issue and if you were lucky enough to find what were called the "swatched editions" you would have a great many fabric swatches that matched the pictures. Unfortunately, this issue is not the swatched issue but does have one lovely swatch of fabric. I used to try to find patterns and materials similar to make my clothes. The descriptions within are in both French and English so they also aided me in trying to learn more French. There are 142 pages in this issue that measures 13 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches. The pricing for this magazine is based on its rarity and its value to me since it is from my personal collection. You can search and search the WEB and hardly find anything on these magazines. CONDITION: Very good with clean/flat interior pages. The covers have more handling wear but still not more than you would expect for a magazine over 40 years old. The paper is good paper smell and this is a plus when obtaining vintage magazines!
