This beautiful ball gown looks like it stepped right out of the Forties, but I believe it was designed in the 1960s. It could date back further> It has the union label within.

The measurements for a size 10 vintage coincide with the measures of 34/35 bust and 24 inch waist (unstretched). The waist is elasticized and can stretch to 30/32. Hips are most flexible since this is a very full dress with room to spare and tons of fabric. The fabric is a rich lustrous taffeta (dry clean only). It swishes and swooshes with a rustle sound that is so wonderful and comes with good taffeta. The length is all the way to the floor (60 inches from shoulder to hemline).

The design & color are ultra feminine. You have a shimmery sheen and glow to the fabric that is oh so pink. There are ruffles galore with a neckline that has deep ruffles of accordian pleats which become double deep ruffles over the arm areas. The neckline can be worn on or off shoulder and both ways looks dramatically beautiful. Another deep ruffle area in the bottom half of the skirt of the dress adds more glamour and such a fetching quality to any lady who wears it. A long matching fabric sash with belt loops is for the waist and can be worn streamer style or tied in a big bow--or wrapped around and around for more of a cummerbund effect. The front and back of dress are so alike that there is actually a tag inside that says "FRONT".

The dress is in very good condition but has some light marks nearer to the hemline area that might come out at cleaners but tend to get lost in the volumes of fabric, as there is lots of rustling and swishing fabric here that is fantastic and one is looking at all the wonderful details of design nearer to the top of dress so as to really not notice these small things. Dress otherwise clean and smoke-free and odor-free. You will truly be the belle of the ball in this designer fashion. Felix Arbeo has made some beautiful dresses and having been made for Saks Fifth Avenue, you know it was expensive and upscale. You will be wearing a one of a kind gown.
