This is one of the most stunning beaded fashions I have run across in all my years of buying vintage items. It was done by the master designer Oleg Cassini and was done as one of his "sample" fashions--you will see "sample" written (hand penned in ink) on the inside next to the designer label. This does not at all detract from this breathtakingly beautiful bolero style jacket, as the label and written sample are on the inside lining of the jacket. Pair this fashion with a glamour gown or long skirt or toreador evening pants and you will garner all the eyes when you make your entrance. The beading was done in Hong Kong, where some of the best beading was ever done on clothing. The types of beads are varied and many as are the gem colors of emerald, ruby, sapphire, and turmaline set against a jet black background. There are more bugle beads than any other type of bead here. Goldtone shot is interspersed among the beads and some of the patterns are centered by rhinestones or large glass beads. The fabric is a silky polyester lining and the outer fabric is a silky very fine rayon which looks like an elegant peau de soie. The size is a stated 8. My model form has a bust of 34/35 so I would say that you would not want to go larger than a bust of 36 for the best look. Shoulder back seam to seam is 15 3/4 inches and the sleeves from shoulder seam to end are 24 inches. CONDITION is excellent with beading intact and exquisite. It's smoke-free, odor-free and very clean. It's quite magical and the night lights hitting on these beads is going to be perfect for holiday allure...but can be worn any time of year that you want to be glamorous.
