DREXELBROOK ~ as relates to American Bandstand's History

Many who viewed American Bandstand in the late 50s/early 60s will recall parties that were held at Drexelbrook's ice skating rink and the swimming pool. I ran across an interesting article on the WEB wherein the author gave credit to the vintage Drexelbrook pictures in the AB Tribute of my website. Here's a couple of the Drexelbrook pictures at my website:

I thought I would share the gentleman's link with you--to give you a bit more history of Drexelbrook. History of Drexelbrook.

Dick Clark and his first wife lived at the Drexelbrook Apartments with their young son Dickie and there is a set of Edward R. Murrow interviews on DVD - one of which shows Dick Clark and his wife at home at their Drexelbrook apartments. It's lots of viewing fun--a real blast from the past. You may see some of the vintage Drexelbrook pictures in the Yates Collection at my website--many thanks to George Yates, son of Ed Yates who worked closely with Dick Clark for many years of the American Bandstand show. And here's another website that may be of interest to you, as it states the ice skating party was December 26, 1961 and the Belmonts sang on the show. Belmonts sing at Bandstand's ice skating party in December 1961 . Diana Benero, one of the Regulars who has provided a large collection of pictures for my website, has told me how much she enjoyed being at the American Bandstand ice skating party..Directly below is a picture of Diana on the ice that day with some other popular Regulars. This picture was in one of the popular magazines back in the day.

I will name a few of the other Regulars there that day and maybe you can all jump in and add the names of others: Frani Giordano, Barb Levick, George Kralle (skated with Diana Benero), Carmen Jiminez, Mike Balara..... Now it's your turn. .
